MOTIVATION: In 2013, I cleaned out my savings to build a website for my first startup, which required complicated code and I couldn't code. Who does that? 😳 I was lucky enough to get into gener8tor's winter accelerator class in Madison, WI, but I desperately needed a co-founder who could code. Not being able to quickly find a technical co-founder negatively affected my startup's ability to raise capital and execute. As a Black founder, I know first-hand the challenges of raising capital and being overlooked and underestimated in tech startup ecosystems.
